Boring, we need more interesting cars like the Vectra 2.0 CD.

How about the base model R33 Skyline? Those are only 200 or so days away.

The Vectra was one of the most mundane and boring cars of it’s time.

It’s just m, it doesn’t even warrant the rest of meh to be meh.

It’s the automotive version of being in a coma.

But you can already get a 1992 Vectra turbo with 200hp, a 6 speed manual, and awd.

No clue if the 6 speed can handle the power, but the C20let can make a good amount and 99.99999% of Americans don’t even know it exists.

What about the Vectra turbo from the first generation? My understanding is that they aren’t awful.

In the meantime, get a Saturn L-Series or Saab 9-5 to whet your appetite.

I think the US equivalent would have to be this.

Kinja'd!!!

If it were a flavor, it would be “unflavored”.

1: Will they last that long?

2: Isn’t there an equivalent SAAB you could get and just fascia-swap?

No car can match the sultry design and bulletproof reliability of the Opel Vectra.

Why get a Vectra when you can import a Laguna .

That would be the Opel Vectra A, known as the Vauxhall Cavalier in the U.K.

It was marginally better than the Vectra B, but that’s not saying much.

If you wanted something sporty you went for the Cavalier 2.0 16v GSi or the 2.0i SRi Red Top SFi.

Both gave 148bhp

But for something with a bit more wellie.

There’s the 2.0i Red Top SFi with 201bhp.

There was a 2.5 V6 but that had 167bhp.

No, tainted river water has a personality. This is just tap water. It does what it’s supposed to do, and that’s it. No more, no less.

I do get it, we got it, friends fathers had them as company cars for selling flooring, etc... up and down the country.

Of the time we also had the Ford Mondeo.

202bhp, 2.5 V6 ST200.

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

Kinja'd!!!

We had the Audi A4.

Kinja'd!!!

Honda Accord.

Lexus LS400.

Kinja'd!!!

Peugeot 406.

Kinja'd!!!

Renault Laguna.

Kinja'd!!!

Rover 75.

Kinja'd!!!

the car more mundane than the Vectra, the Nissan Primera.

Kinja'd!!!

There are a few others but they are either meh or were too expensive for most in that sector.

Tap water, but Flint tap water, it’ll kill you, not with toxins or contaminants but you’d want to do yourself in.

Nah, because again, that would mean it has some sort of personality.

I’ve driven a bunch of them, and it’s like... well, it’s like you get in the car at one location and then get out and you’re in another, but you have no memory of what transpired in the middle. The driving experience is so unremarkable that it gives you amnesia.

The red top sri was the one I wad referring to. Don’t know much about it though. Not sure what type of awd system it had. 201hp in 1992 wasn’t bad

Kinja'd!!! Svend > Discerning

Kinja'd!!!0

Most of Cavaliers at the time were 1.8i with something like 113bhp.

Those ones up top were the dreamed after sportier ones that top salesmen got if they were very lucky.

The (red) SRi Red Top is 148bhp, only the (metallic maroon) Turbo at the bottom is the 201bhp Red Top SFi

SFi is what I meant. There’s surprisingly little information about them and they seem to have made few. I was curious about the awd system but I can’t find anything about it.

There are three for sale in the U.K. right now.

They want £10k for them though.

Sort of a cheap Vauxhall Lotus Charlton.

I suppose that’s true... For all modern cars in “first-world” markets, the pictured Vectra would be a significant down-grade. As for reliability, I’m not sure I believe it, since it’s a gm product, and reliability isn’t their strongest suit.

More of a reliability nightmare than the already shitty Vectra B. The third Laguna though...
